In Sarah McKenzie's fascinating interview with us, I especially enjoyed her stories about some of the very famous artists she has worked with including Michael Buble, Chris Botti, Michel Legrand with a connection to Miles Davis, Pierre Boussaguet, and others.

While we were talking about her brand new album just released March 29th, Secrets Of My Heart, we heard her story about how two of the songs on that album that have a Brazilian flavor  were inspired by her tour to Rio de Janeiro. While there she had the opportunity to play with some of the original members of the Antonio Carlos Jobim band.

Sadly Jobim has passed away. He was widely regarded as one of the most important songwriters of the 20th century. Many of Jobim's songs are jazz standards. His song The Girl From Ipanema won a Grammy in 1965 for record of the year.  Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra prominently featured Jobim's songs on their albums. Oscar Peterson, Chick Corea, and Herbie Hancock also used Jobim’s tunes in their performances. We already played one of those Brazilian songs from Secrets Of My Heart during the interview show. On this show we will hear Sarah McKenzie tell us about the other one, DeNada, and I will play it.

As always I will have for you the very latest releases, the Billboard top three songs, classic old, and a classic among classics in smooth jazz.
