Part one - It’s election week. I hope all goes well and we stay safe. Be sure to vote. As is said by many, this is the most important election in our lifetime. This is smooth jazz but I am beginning this week with one of the most highly respected jazz artists on the planet. Trumpeter extraordinaire Wynton Marsalis is the director of jazz at the Lincoln Center. He has won nine Grammys and the Pulitzer Prize For Music. Please listen to his Inspiring words and performance at the Federal Hall, Dedication to the Cause of Democracy.
After all that has occurred and that we have endured in this election, it gives me great comfort to play a song that reconfirms my faith that we live in a wonderful world. I have the band leader from Stephen Colbert’s Late Show, Jon Batiste on the piano and with his vocal of What A Wonderful World.
New work from guitarist Paul Brown and pianist and singer Laila Biali.
Part two - Billboard top three songs in Smooth Jazz for this week played.
Part three - Blake Aaron, Sarah McKenzie, Norman Brown, and Dave Koz.
Second hour
Part one - turn up the quiet time with five uninterrupted songs in a row featuring the new Diana Krall album
Part two - favorite songs from the past years of Smooth Jazz.
