What would it be like to have your number picked at random, get stuck on a plane and deposited in a vast, steamy swamp on the far side of this planet where, for one seemingly endless year, you will dodge bullets and booby traps in the hope of hanging on and maybe getting back to a “normal” life in the States?  In his book, “Stalag Vietnam”, Michael Schlosser explores this reality first hand as one of the roughly 2.2 million men drafted during the Vietnam War.
