Scratched Up Theater presents a portrait of Mae Helene Bacon Boggs, an early resident and author/historian of Shasta County, as portrayed by Elsie Ritchie. It aired at 8 PM on Tuesday, August 21st, on KKRN. The one-act was originally part of the live production Historic Voices of Shasta County.

Mae Helene Boggs initiated the preservation of the largely abandoned town of Shasta by buying lots and encouraging others to do so, in hopes of forming a State Park. In 1950, the Shasta State Historic Monument (later renamed Shasta State Historic State Park) was opened. After the old courthouse was restored, Mrs. Boggs donated a large collection of paintings, furniture, and historical documents to the park. Mae was also a driving force in changing the proposed name of Kennett Dam/Lake (the name of the mining town, now under the lake) to the current Shasta Dam/Lake.

The broadcast includes an interview with historian Sue Lang hosted by Elsie Ritchie.
